Leigh's services include:

Screening Assessment

This will involve an informal observation session with your child in the school and/or home environment and will include a discussion with parents and school staff. Following the screening, a summary report with recommendations will be completed and discussed in a feedback session with parents.

Handwriting Assessment

These assessments are typically carried out for children in Senior School and will involve the use a specific Standardised Assessments to highlight specific challenges around handwriting. A report will provide recommendations regarding any accommodations or extra time that may be needed for exams.

Comprehensive Assessment

This will involve a formal session with your child using Standardised Assessments and can include observations at home or within the classroom environment. Following the assessment, a summary report with recommendations will be completed and discussed in a feedback session with parents.

OT Intervention/Treatment Session

One-on-One direct contact with child (45 minutes)

Group Sessions

These are a great way for working with many students. They are also helpful for students who benefit from peer learning. Examples of groups are:

  • Gross Motor Groups
  • Fine Motor Groups
  • Sensory Play Groups
Leigh's services

Home Programme

The programme includes games, activities and strategies to help with specific, identified needs of difficulty and will be demonstrated in a treatment session.

Training and Workshops

Training on specific topics related to gross and fine motor skills, visual perception, motor planning and handwriting can be arranged on request.

Modifications of School Environments

Adaptations and modifications to the school environment, aimed at facilitating student access to education, can be arranged upon request
