About Leigh

I am a dedicated Occupational Therapist who has a passion for working with children, striving for each child to reach their full potential.

I qualified from the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. After working for the NHS for 3 years, I returned to South Africa in 2003 to open a School-Based Private Practice in Durban. This was run successfully for just over 19 years and provided a service to children who presented with developmental delays, coordination difficulties, neurological disorders, ADD/ADHD, sensory integration difficulties, handwriting and visual perceptual difficulties.

During this time, I married the love of my life and had 2 wonderful children, Jess and Jarred. They have often been my unwilling guinea pigs as I have navigated my journey as a paediatric OT and are a constant source of inspiration.

Upon returning to the UK in 2022, I have been involved in delivering paediatric occupational services in diverse settings, including the NHS and private sectors. My role involves working with children with a range of needs and diagnoses, in both mainstream and special schools.

I work closely with children, their families and school staff to develop realistic and attainable goals. I have extensive knowledge and experience in the treatment of children who are experiencing difficulties with gross and fine motor coordination, handwriting, sensory processing, visual perception and daily living skills.
